Report】【Report】The third session of the 2024 Glocal Human Resource Development Course, a project commissioned by Mie Prefecture, was held.

 ICETT was commissioned by Mie Prefecture to hold the "Glocal Human Resource Development Course," a series of three lectures aimed at broadening the international perspectives of Mie's future leaders and fostering glocal human resources by providing an opportunity for young people in Mie Prefecture to enhance their international awareness and sensibilities and to open their eyes to the world. The third lecture was held on February 9. We are pleased to report on the third lecture held on February 9.

Session 3: "Thinking about Global Warming, First Steps for the Next Generation of Leaders"

Lecturer: Prof. Yoshihiro Tachibana, Laboratory of Weather and Climate Dynamics, Graduate School of Bioresources, Mie University

         Shohei Toyonaga, CEO, Pomona Farms, Inc.

 In the third lecture, he introduced the mechanism of global warming, which is a worldwide problem, and adaptation measures.
 In the first part of the lecture by Professor Tachibana, he explained that global warming is truly a glocal issue and the impact of climate change on agriculture.
 In the second part of his presentation, President Toyonaga introduced the sustainable agriculture for adapting to climate change that Pomona Farms, Inc. is working on, and he also talked about his career path from archaeology to agriculture.
 In the third part, participants exchanged opinions with the lecturers on a variety of topics, including those related to the content of the lectures and career development.

 The lecturers gave a message to the participants, saying that it is the younger generation who will be greatly affected by global warming in the future, and that they should consider the issue as their own and think about what they can do from various perspectives.

 Participants commented that they understood the meaning of global warming as both a global and local issue and wanted to do what they could to help.

 The third course provided a good opportunity for participants to think deeply about environmental issues that are close to their hearts and how to deal with them.
